Chih Kuang Kuan earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Michigan, where he studied from 2008 to 2013. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, which he achieved between 2003 and 2006. His expertise includes multi-objective optimization techniques for vehicle propulsion systems, developing computational fluid dynamics solvers for heat transfer analysis, and working on model predictive control strategies for fuel-cell and battery electric vehicles.
Previous Experience
Before his current roles, Chih Kuang Kuan served a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan for three months in 2013 and was a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the same institution from 2008 to 2013. He worked as a Research Engineer at the Aerospace Science and Technology Research Center, NCKU from 2007 to 2008 and as a Corporal in the Army of Taiwan from 2006 to 2007. From 2003 to 2006, he served as a Teaching Assistant at National Cheng Kung University.
Special Projects
Chih Kuang Kuan developed a 1D physically-based model for powertrain technology optimization. His specialization includes experience in rocket propulsion systems with a focus on liquid and hybrid technologies.
