👋 Hello, hope you’re having a wonderful day! My name is Nathan and here’s a bit more about myself :) 😁Personal: I'm from Darwin in the Northern Territory but now live in Melbourne for university. I'm super passionate about social impact and the start-up ecosystem. My dad was a refugee from East Timor and had to overcome so many challenges thus I've always wanted to do my part to give back. 💼 Background: Professional: Interned at BDO, Deloitte, and Pelikin, an Australian fintech startup. I am now working as an Operations Manager at Bookbot, an ed-tech startup! Educational: I went to Darwin High School and currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance, at the University of Melbourne. I expect to graduate at the end of 2022. 🌏 Leadership Experience: I previously served one year as President of Enactus Melbourne, leading a student society of 70 students that revolves around entrepreneurship and social impact. With our projects and events, we aim to educate and inspire others to incite meaningful change and provide opportunities to bring out your inner entrepreneur. Before that, I was leading a student-run NFP called Cuple. 💪 Side Projects: Co-founder @ Stint - a slack community and job board tackling the inequalities faced by international students studying in Australia Director @ EnAccess Maps - an app that empowers and helps users of mobility aids find accessible restaurants 🏆 Recognition: Stage 2 Accounting Award, NT Youth Business Awards Winner, NT Department of Treasury Special Achievement in Business & Enterprise, ATAR in Top 2% of HS Cohort, Provost’s Award for Cuple in U21 RISE Showcase 🎨 Hobbies: Investing, reading, sports (soccer and basketball), volunteering, social impact (passionate about poverty alleviation, environment, and quality education specifically) and travelling ☺️ I’m very open to connecting with more people and expanding my network, so feel free to send through that invitation to connect!
