About Dana D.
My journey through the professional world has been extensive, and I have explored a number of fields before choosing Computer Science. I have experience in medicine and psychology which has taught me a great deal about working with others, being empathetic, and applying theory to real life situations. I’ve learned from my past work experience in cake decorating and memory care that paying attention to detail is critical, and patience is key. I have focused on cyber security within the field of Computer Science, and have gained experience with hardening Linux systems and developing security-conscious web applications. Cyber security is a largely applicable subdivision of Computer Science, and is necessary in every application in this day and age. I’ve been fortunate to meet many people in Computer Science who have made me feel welcome as a woman in the field, and I look forward to learning more as time goes on.
