About Mike Lambert
Currently at Anthropic working to make large language models and future of AI go well. Most recently, helped build Bikes & Scooters at Lyft, scaling to 100 engineers with an integrated hardware org, while navigating a large acquisition of Motivate. Mostly technical leadership, putting on a PM/EM/DS hat as needed to get the job done. Previously, built robust reliable systems Google/YouTube, and ran a 1-2 person startup/passion-project for the dance community for a few years (unfortunately terminated by Facebook's API lockdown) while learning both mobile/frontend development. Before that, worked with Unreal Engine and its licensees, primarily in the client-server networking space. Experience and skillsets (some of which have atrophied over time): - Debugging and grokking complex systems - Building domain knowledge and models, breaking down communication barriers - Redesigning scalable processes for organizations as things change (and able to break down processes and jump in to firefight when necessary) - Productionization, reliability, scalability, data pushing pipelines, Apache Beam, from my time with Google/YouTube SRE teams - Python expertise, with experience in C/C++, Java, Javascript/Flow/Webpack/Node, Swift, and more - Mobile app development: Android Java, iPhone/Swift/Objective-C, and React Native - Web development: - Hypergrowth organizations and dynamics for scaling eng organizations - Embedded software development (primarily e-bikes and scooters)
