Work at Aspen Skiing Company
Emilie Tait Jamieson has been employed at Aspen Skiing Company since 2013, where she serves as a Ski Trainer and Instructor. In addition to her role as a trainer, she is currently the Snowmass Kids Lead Trainer, a position she has held since 2017. Her responsibilities include overseeing ski training programs for children and ensuring a high standard of instruction and safety.
Previous Experience in Ski Coaching
Prior to her current role, Emilie worked in various coaching positions. She was the U14 Head Coach and Ski Instructor at Thredbo Resort in Australia for one year from 2014 to 2015. She also served as a Trainer at Rookie Academy Lake Wanaka Ltd from 2016 to 2019. Additionally, she was a FIS Coach at Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club for one year in 2012 to 2013 and held the position of Head Race Coach at SnowplanetNZ from 2005 to 2011.
Education and Certifications
Emilie Tait Jamieson studied at Massey University, where she earned a Bachelor of Applied Economics. She has also achieved several professional certifications in skiing, including a Trainer's Certification from the New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance (NZSIA) and a Level 200 Coach certification from the US Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA). Additionally, she has been studying at the American Institute for Avalanche Education (AIARE) since 2015, working towards Level One certification.
Involvement with Ski Organizations
Emilie has been actively involved with various ski organizations throughout her career. She was a member of the New Zealand Demo Team for the NZSIA from 2017 to 2019. She also worked with the International Ski Federation as an athlete in ski racing from 2006 to 2009. Her diverse experiences in these roles have contributed to her expertise in ski instruction and coaching.
