About Shaun Polk

When computers and networks don’t work properly or end users don’t know how to use them, people get frustrated and productivity grinds to a halt. I make sure they function and staff is properly trained at 73 sites with around 1500 end users. People rely on me to see projects through to completion to meet deadlines through dedication and collaborative teamwork. Shortly after I started, I was assigned to assist a more experienced worker with a project involving replacement of the batteries in the server battery backup (UPS), or the unit itself in over 60 units. The lead co-worker refused to undertake the time-consuming process of replacing the old battery backups–about 1/3 of the project. My supervisor was upset that this wasn’t done and we missed our deadline. Though I was new to the job, the manager looked to me to clean up the mess and get it done ASAP, which I did. We recently bought a group of hand-held computers to deploy in a plasma center, but some malfunctioned. Without these units, our centers couldn’t fully function. We had no experience with these units, so it was trial and error to fix them. I helped managed the rebuilding of the units and shipped them to meet a tight deadline. On a regular basis, I handle equipment requests and ensure proper setup, then train end users to help them to more fully use the software and hardware. I was recognized for customer service excellence at Lake Forest Bank and Trust for as Head Teller.
