Tony Ma was born in rural Vietnam during the Vietnam War and faced significant health challenges from birth, surviving an eclamptic seizure due to his mother's undiagnosed hypertension. He experienced the traumatic events of the Vietnam War and narrowly escaped death at sea during post-war efforts to flee the country by boat. After arriving in America, he spent seven months in a refugee camp seeking asylum. Despite facing numerous challenges, including financial, familial, and personal losses, Tony has expressed gratitude for his success in the United States.
