About Lynn Elston
I operate at the intersection of technology, risk, and business operations. A technologist to my business clients and a business leader to my technology partners, I am in a leadership role where I enable teams to deliver value through transformation, continuous improvement, and strategic initiatives. On my best day, I help to solve problems, coach, and mentor, and continue to learn and grow. I enjoy building and leading cross functional, matrixed, and global teams. I am passionate about using LEAN, Agile, DevOps, change management, continuous improvement and outcome-oriented project management to solve problems, deliver value, and lead teams through change. I joined BNY Mellon's Risk & Compliance organization in mid-2021 and head the Transformation and Strategy Team's Portfolio Oversight and Governance function. I regularly engage with partners across Risk & Compliance and Technology organizations. I joined Vanguard as a Risk Manager and spent 16 years delivering value for Sales, Client Services, Marketing, Operations, Asset Management, FINTech, CRM, IT, and Finance leading PMO, Change Management, and Delivery teams. As a leader in Global Risk & Security, I steered matrixed teams across the firm to transform data centers and lead the division's Diversity and Inclusion initiative for nearly 2,000 colleagues. I led a risk, controls, and governance team in Identity and Asset Management where I transformed enterprise-wide internal client relationships. Prior to joining Vanguard, I had several roles at Fidelity Investments as a strategic IT consultant and delivery manager to Compliance and AML Officers, Auditors, and the General Counsel. I've also had software delivery roles in manufacturing and retail. I have a passion for connecting with people, building strong partnerships, sharing what I've learned through mentoring and coaching, and continuous improvement and learning. I have bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a MBA along with a CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) certificate.
