Additionally, Compass Urgent Accommodation Vouchers are provided for brief hotel stays when emergency shelter is not available. Furthermore, the Compass C-RENT program offers homelessness prevention services including rental assistance and case management, ensuring families have the support they need to avoid homelessness.
Early Education and Childcare
The Compass Children's Center offers full-day early education and childcare focused on social and emotional development for children aged 0–5 who come from homeless and extremely low-income families. This program ensures that young children receive essential early education in a safe and supportive environment, preparing them for future academic and personal success.
Behavioral Health Services
Compass Behavioral Health Services provides therapy and emotional support for families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. These services aim to support the mental health and emotional well-being of families, offering them the resources they need to navigate the challenges associated with homelessness.
Policy Advocacy and Community Engagement
Compass Family Services engages in policy advocacy to influence local and state systems affecting homeless families. The organization also hosts a Family Advisory Committee that integrates feedback from Compass parents in planning processes, ensuring that the programs and services are responsive to the needs of the community. Furthermore, the Guaranteed Basic Income Pilot is facilitated to support economic self-sufficiency among families.
Homelessness Prevention and Support
Compass Family Services coordinates the Central City Access Point, serving as a primary entry for families experiencing or at risk of homelessness to connect with San Francisco's Family Coordinated Entry. Additionally, the organization offers Compass Childcare Support Services to help parents access early care and education programs for their children, further supporting family stability.
