For the past 15+ years, as a Senior Education Administrator/Learning Consultant, I have gained invaluable knowledge in system-level leadership experience and operational expertise to design and implement educational systems that promote a safe, nurturing learning environment. A few of the achievements I have accomplished include: ★ Designed, implemented, and monitored student academic interventions at three middle schools in the Elkhorn Public Schools district. ★ Developed an All Middle-Level School Improvement Plan for the Elkhorn Public Schools district in collaboration with middle school principals, focusing on improving literacy and numeracy skills in all content areas. ★ Served as the Science Department Head of Elkhorn Valley View Middle School (EVVMS) and the District Science Co-Chair for the Elkhorn Public Schools district, in addition to acting as the State 'Building a Presence' science representative for EVVMS. ★ Collaborated with a statewide team to write science test items in 2011, 2012, and 2013 for the Nebraska State Accountability Assessments (NeSA) system that was first introduced in the 2009-10 school year. ★ Represented Educational Service Unit 3 (ESU#3) in hosting 'Science Matters' - a professional development conference for ESU#3 science teacher-leaders - with the Computer Science and Engineering departments of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. ★ Helped drive the Every Learner Inquires (ELI) science initiative of the state of Iowa as a member of the leadership team of the Loess Hills Area Education Agency. ★ Delivered a presentation on 'Teaching Content Area Language' at an international conference of Teachers of English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL) in March 2003. At this present time, I'm excited to connect with like-minded professionals and share my expertise in science education, classroom management, lesson planning, and educational technology.
