About Angela Sun
An experienced leader in the public, private, and non profit sectors, Angela has served as an executive across a range of sectors, from financial services, technology, media and healthcare to public policy and government. Angela works in venture capital and is a director on the boards of The Western Union Company (NYSE: WU), Cushman & Wakefield (NYSE: CWK), Apollo Strategic Growth Capital (NYSE: APGB) as well as Maxim Crane Works (an Apollo portfolio company). Prior to her time at Alpha Edison as Partner and Chief Operating Officer, Angela spent a decade at Bloomberg LP, where she served most recently as Global Head of Strategy and Corporate Development, overseeing a team that led partnerships and M&A across the company's businesses -- including Financial Products, Data, Enterprise and Media. She is also the creator and architect of the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, the first-of-its-kind social index product that has become an industry standard for issuers and investors. Having spent nine years as a director on the board of Women's World Banking, Angela is also passionate about issues relating to women's economic empowerment and financial access. She is a frequent speaker on corporate purpose, socially-responsible investing, ESG, and innovation in both the private and public sectors. Angela served as a Senior Policy Adviser in the Bloomberg Administration, overseeing a citywide portfolio of economic development agencies and leading notable urban planning efforts, such as the largest rezoning in the city's history and the development of new neighborhoods, including Long Island City. Prior to Bloomberg, she worked at J.P. Morgan in investment banking and at McKinsey & Company in the Heathcare practice. Angela is also an avid supporter of arts and education, serving as a trustee on the boards of the Museum of Arts and Design and Second Stage Theater. She is Vice Chair of the Harvard Gift Committee, Chair of the John Harvard Society ('96) and established an undergraduate research scholarship at Harvard University. Angela is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and on the Advisory Council of the NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights. Angela received her B.A., Summa Cum Laude from Harvard College and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. She was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader as well as one of Crain's NY Business' "40 Under 40."
