Prior to that, she worked as a Meeting Planner for the American Society for Microbiology from 2007 to 2009. Her roles involved organizing and executing various events in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area.

Heidi Souerwine earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University, with a dual concentration in Cultures & Societies and Sub-Saharan Africa. She studied there from 1999 to 2003, which provided her with a solid foundation in international relations and cultural studies.
Internship Experience
In 2001, Heidi completed an internship with the Children's Defense Fund, where she participated in the Campaign for the Act to Leave No Child Behind. This internship lasted for 11 months and contributed to her understanding of advocacy and policy development.
