Additionally, he held the position of Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs and Market Development at Opower from 2013 to 2016, also in Singapore. His background includes consulting for both governments and private sector entities in Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Educational Background
Adam Welsh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from King's College London, where he studied from 1992 to 1995. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master's degree in Southeast Asia Studies and Economics from The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), completing his studies from 2004 to 2006. His academic background provides a strong foundation for his work in policy and regulatory affairs.
Journalistic Career
Prior to his career in public policy, Adam Welsh was an award-winning journalist. He worked as an Enterprise Reporter for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette from 1999 to 2001 in Little Rock, Arkansas. His early career also included a role as a Reporter at Beaumont Enterprise from 1997 to 1999 in Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas. His journalistic experience has contributed to his ability to effectively communicate complex issues in the policy arena.
Consulting Experience
Adam Welsh has a diverse consulting background, including a short-term consultancy role at The World Bank in 2006. His consulting work has spanned both government and private sector projects, particularly in Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.
