Hugo Ruggieri currently serves as the Legal Director and Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Doctrine, a role he has held since 2021. Hugo Ruggieri holds multiple degrees in law, including a Master's Degree in Intellectual Property Law from Sciences Po, obtained from 2013 to 2016. He also earned a Certificat d'Aptitude à la Profession d'Avocat from EFB - Ecole de Formation des Barreaux between 2016 and 2018. Additionally, he studied eCommerce and Digital Economy Law at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne. He began his career as a legal intern at Cotty Vivant Marchisio & Lauzeral in Paris and Singapore in 2014 and 2015, respectively. He has also worked at Cohen & Gresser LLP, Herbert Smith Freehills, and Google as an IP/IT legal intern. His experience spans various roles, including cofounder positions at GALATEA and Aeon, and he has contributed to academic institutions as a lecturer and tutor.

Teaching Experience

Since 2018, Hugo Ruggieri has been a lecturer at the University of Strasbourg, teaching Copyright and Intermediary Liability as part of the IP/IT Law Master's Degree program. He has also lectured at Sciences Po from 2020 to 2023 and at the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) on personal data protection and artificial intelligence. His teaching focuses on intellectual property and information technology law across several master's degree programs.
