Before joining the First Nations Health Authority, Annie Merritt held several positions that contributed to her expertise in planning and community engagement. She worked as an Employment and Training Policy Analyst at Huu-ay-aht First Nations from 2015 to 2016. Prior to that, she served as a Community Engagement Coordinator at the same organization from 2014 to 2015. Additionally, she was employed by the City of Vancouver as a Greening Events Coordinator in 2013 and as an Engineering Assistant for the VIVA Vancouver Program from 2013 to 2014.

Annie Merritt holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science (B.A.& Sc.) from McGill University, which she completed from 2005 to 2009. She furthered her education at The University of British Columbia, where she earned a Master of Arts in Planning (M.A.P) from 2011 to 2013.
