Work at Fortress Information Security
Dr. Lee Mangold serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Vice President of Security at Fortress Information Security since 2021. In this role, he has been responsible for achieving and maintaining SOC 2 Type 2 and DoD 800-171 compliance. He designed and implemented internal controls to meet and exceed these compliance requirements. Dr. Mangold developed various defensive security programs, including incident response and vulnerability management. He also built the information security program focusing on third-party risk management for critical infrastructure and managed the full P&L for the Security and IT departments.

Dr. Lee Mangold holds a Doctorate in Computer and Information Security from Northcentral University. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science (BSACS) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Troy University. Dr. Mangold has a diverse professional background in the field of information security. He co-founded GoldSky Security, where he served as CEO and Principal Consultant from 2016 to 2018. He held the position of Head of Security (Underwriting) at Coalition, Inc. from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Cloud Security Architect at GuidePoint Security and as Security Operations & Support Manager at Dynamic Animation Systems, Inc. His extensive experience spans over a decade in various security roles.
Leadership Roles
Dr. Mangold has held several leadership positions in the information security community. He served as President of the Information Systems Security Association - Central Florida from 2014 to 2015. Additionally, he is the Founder and Principal Security Consultant at Mangold Security, established in 2015. He has also been the Executive Director of the Florida Cyber Alliance since 2013, contributing to the advancement of cybersecurity initiatives in the region.
Teaching Experience
Since 2016, Dr. Mangold has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Central Florida. In this role, he shares his knowledge and expertise in information security with students, contributing to the education of future professionals in the field.
