GBHTT Program Manager: Akai Webster
Akai Webster has been serving as the Program Manager for Girl Be Heard Trinidad and Tobago since 2019. Under her leadership, the program has successfully managed seven cohorts, involving approximately 84 participants, including 12 migrants. Her role signifies her commitment to empowering young girls and fostering leadership skills through performing arts and social justice initiatives.
Teaching Experience and Administrative Roles
With 15 years of teaching experience and an additional five years as a school administrator, Akai Webster has dedicated two decades to the field of education. Prior to her current role, she served as a Teacher and Vice Principal at Bishop’s Centenary College, a private all-girls Anglican secondary school in Trinidad, where she contributed significantly to the educational development and administrative operations.
Director of BE Entertainment
Since 2017, Akai Webster has been the Director of BE Entertainment, a performing arts organization that was incorporated as a non-profit in 2018. As Director, she oversees various initiatives aimed at promoting the performing arts, providing a platform for artistic expression, and supporting the growth of the arts community.
