Previous Experience in Metallurgy

Prior to his current position, Alex Kali worked at Newmont Ghana Gold Limited from 2006 to 2010 as a Metallurgist and Tailings Management Engineer. He gained experience in metallurgical processes and tailings management during his four years in Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana. Additionally, he held roles at Anglogold Ashanti, where he served as Plant Supervisor, Commissioning Metallurgist, and Metallurgical Plant Supervisor from 2000 to 2006 in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.

Education and Expertise

Alex Kali studied at Kwame Nkrumah'​ University of Science and Technology in Kumasi. He possesses expertise in creating training programs and materials that align with industry and company standards. His technical skills include the use of SCADA/DCS/CITECT systems and Molycop Tools for process plant design and control, as well as specialization in the Mine-to-Mill concept and the Goldsim water balance model.

Training and Development Initiatives

In his role, Alex Kali developed a skill matrix for each job category within the Metallurgical Department. This initiative aims to ensure comprehensive training and skill assessment for metallurgical personnel, facilitating their professional development and enhancing operational efficiency.
