Shawn co-founded Firef.ly, a London-based travel startup, in 2016, where he serves as Head of Marketing, Editorial Director, and Co-Founder. The startup successfully raised £343k in seed funding on Seedrs. At Firef.ly, he built and launched a travel app and an Apple TV app, as well as developed a Watson-based chatbot for a large government organization in the US.

Shawn has extensive experience in the travel sector, having worked at Lonely Planet for 12 years in various roles, including Travel Writer, Editor, and Travel Editor for the Asia Pacific region. He hosted a National Geographic travel documentary in China, which received nominations for several Asian TV awards. Additionally, he assisted the National Gallery Singapore with their social media strategy and implementation.
