Before his current position, Barry Willard held several roles in the energy sector. He worked as a Senior Advisor at JCW12 Energy Advisory and Consulting from 2018 to 2022, where he provided specialized advisory and analytical management consulting services to the power and renewable energy industry. Prior to that, he served as Manager of Contract Commercialization and Asset Management at RRI Energy, Inc. from 2007 to 2010. Willard also held various positions at NRG Energy, including Director of C&I Business Solutions Structuring and Director of Commercial and Industrial Costing and Structuring. His experience also includes a role as Associate Director at Reliant Energy and Manager of Southeast Origination and Optimization at GenOn Energy.
Education and Expertise
Barry Willard holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Rice Business - Jones Graduate School of Business, where he studied Finance. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) cum laude from Stephen F. Austin State University, also focusing on Finance. Additionally, he has completed the Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) certification from the Corporate Finance Institute® (CFI). Willard has extensive experience in major organized energy markets, including CAISO, PJM, MISO, ERCOT, ISO NE, and NYISO.

In addition to his professional commitments, Barry Willard volunteers as a coach for various youth sports, including basketball, football, Little League baseball, and soccer, with over 15 years of coaching experience.
