Ozark Guidance was founded in 1970 and has since expanded its reach across Northwest Arkansas. The organization has grown to operate in over 150 schools throughout the region, providing essential behavioral health services. Over the years, Ozark Guidance has played a critical role in the community by offering comprehensive mental health support and by responding to the evolving needs of the residents in Washington, Benton, Madison, Carroll, Baxter, Boone, Marion, and Newton Counties.
Behavioral Health Services
Ozark Guidance provides a wide range of behavioral health services catering to both adults and children. These services include substance abuse and recovery programs, therapeutic day treatment, and outpatient treatment options. The organization is committed to addressing various mental health needs through its offerings, which are designed to support individuals and families in managing mental health challenges.
School-Based Services
One of the key programs of Ozark Guidance is its School-Based Services. This initiative is designed to assist students in over 150 schools who are experiencing emotional and/or behavioral problems. The program provides targeted support to help students manage their issues effectively within the school environment, thus promoting better educational outcomes and overall well-being.
Partnership with Genoa Healthcare
Ozark Guidance has partnered with Genoa Healthcare to enhance its service offerings by providing a full-service pharmacy on its Springdale campus. This partnership ensures that clients have convenient access to necessary medications as part of their comprehensive treatment plans. The on-site pharmacy plays a crucial role in supporting the medication management aspect of behavioral health care.
Community Support and Grants
A significant boost to Ozark Guidance's services came with the receipt of a $5,000,000 Community Mental Health Center grant from SAMHSA. This grant is intended to assist the organization in delivering critical mental health services over two years. Such funding enables Ozark Guidance to expand its reach and improve service quality, making a positive impact on the community.
Therapeutic Foster Care Program
Ozark Guidance also offers a Therapeutic Foster Care program. This initiative aims to provide a supportive environment for children in need, placing them in foster homes that offer specialized therapeutic support. The program addresses the emotional and behavioral needs of children in foster care, contributing to their overall stability and development.
