Fan Wang has been with PingCAP since 2021, serving in Engineering and Product Leadership. In this role, Wang oversees the outbound and go-to-market product management team for TiDB Dedicated. Wang leads the development of the TiDB Dedicated product portfolio, emphasizing strategic direction and innovation. Additionally, Wang heads a global engineering team that is responsible for creating Cloud operation and DevOps infrastructure, as well as the Clinic diagnostic service.
Previous Experience at Oracle
Before joining PingCAP, Fan Wang worked at Oracle for a total of six years. Wang began as a Software Engineer from 2011 to 2017, where foundational skills in software development were established. Wang then advanced to the position of Senior Engineering Manager from 2017 to 2021, overseeing engineering teams and projects, and contributing to product development and management.
Educational Background
Fan Wang holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University, which was completed in 2011. Prior to this, Wang earned two Bachelor's degrees from Xiamen University: one in Computer Software Engineering from 2006 to 2010 and another in Financial Economics from 2008 to 2010. Wang also attended Suzhou High School from 2003 to 2006.
Internship Experience at BNY Mellon
In 2011, Fan Wang completed a two-month internship as an Application Engineer Practicum Intern at BNY Mellon in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. This experience provided exposure to real-world applications of engineering principles and practices in a financial services environment.
