His experience also includes a position at Coopers & Lybrand Consulting as a Maintenance Management Consultant for two months in 1997 and a role at Carpedia International as a Management Consultant for five months in the same year. Additionally, he spent eight years at IBM Canada as a Managing Consultant in the IBM Global Maintenance Practice.

Thomas Port holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Lakehead University. He has developed expertise in implementing Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems, including SAP, Oracle, Ultramain, and Maximo. His knowledge extends to utilizing continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN, Six Sigma, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in his work.

Throughout his career, Thomas Port has completed over 40 maintenance projects across various industries, including Mining, Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Forestry, Transportation, and Utilities. Notably, he provided maintenance consulting services for Shell Albian Sands and Suncor Energy in the Fort McMurray oil sands from 2010 to 2012. His diverse project experience underscores his capability in managing complex maintenance operations.
Independent Consulting
From 1994 to 1996, Thomas Port worked independently, providing maintenance consulting services for three Placer mine sites across Canada. This period allowed him to apply his expertise in a variety of settings, further enhancing his skills and understanding of the maintenance landscape in the mining sector.
