Victor Essang has contributed to several significant projects, including the development of a Web GIS mapping application for project monitoring in Akwa Ibom State using open source technologies like GeoServer, GeoDjango, and Leaflet.JS. He designed the Akwa Ibom State Covid-19 GIS Dashboard as a volunteer for the state Ministry of Health and co-hosted a virtual humanitarian mapping exercise aimed at improving HIV/AIDS and gender-based violence projects in Ibeno LGA.
Professional Involvement
Victor currently serves as the state director for Akwa Ibom State in the Geospatial Forum of Nigeria. In this capacity, he facilitates various trainings and workshops for GIS and Data Science specialists, contributing to the professional development of individuals in the geospatial field.
