It also offers 24-hour urgent care services in La Jolla, as well as care at four receiving center emergency rooms specifically for STEMI heart attacks. Recognized nationally by U.S. News & World Report, Scripps Health's orthopedic services provide comprehensive care including joint reconstruction and replacement surgery, spine surgery, and sports medicine. Treatments and surgeries are available for the elbow, wrist, hand, foot, ankle, hip, knee, shoulder, and spine. The Shiley Center for Orthopaedic Research and Education (SCORE) at Scripps Health develops artificial cartilage and tests new devices and surgical techniques.
