About Ailana Nurgali
I am Ailana Nurgaliyeva (she/her), a student leader and entrepreneur with a passion for empowering and uplifting diverse communities. I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Neurobiology and Business Psychology at UC San Diego, where I have acquired multiple skills ranging from Project Management and Marketing to Research and Development. As the President of The Women's Network, I drive strategic initiatives to promote gender equality, mentorship, and professional development for over 150 female students on campus, collaborating with various stakeholders and planning impactful programs and events. As the Co-Founder and Chief of Operations of Alama Educational Technologies, I spearheaded the ideation and development of a groundbreaking product that addresses barriers for college students from varied backgrounds and significantly enhances student success rates. I was selected for the StartR Rady FAWI23 Cohort, a highly competitive accelerator program, where I received comprehensive training, mentorship, and access to a valuable ecosystem of resources to advance our entrepreneurial journey. I also founded the UC Kazakh Society, an intercollegiate society for Kazakhstani students, building a network of over 60 members and promoting the values of honor, academic achievement, and community. I am a team player, a problem solver, and a visionary, who is always eager to learn and grow.
