Daniele Horton serves as the Founder and CEO of Verdani Partners, a role she has held since 2012. Under her leadership, Verdani Partners has focused on sustainability consulting for the built environment, helping clients achieve high rankings in sustainability assessments. The firm has contributed to the success of clients in the GRESB Assessment and the Resilience Module, particularly noted in 2019. Horton’s extensive experience in environmental management and sustainability education informs the strategic direction of the company.
Current Roles and Responsibilities
Daniele Horton holds multiple positions as an ESG Advisor across various organizations. She has been with PCCP, LLC since 2021, PGIM Real Estate since 2019, and has been advising The Howard Hughes Corporation and American Realty Advisors since 2017. Additionally, she has been involved with GID Investment Advisers LLC, Jamestown, and Clarion Partners LLC, providing expertise in environmental, social, and governance initiatives. Horton also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Diego School of Business since 2013.
Education and Expertise
Daniele Horton has a robust educational background in architecture and sustainable development. She studied at PUC - Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás, where she earned a degree in Architectural and Building Sciences/Technology. Horton furthered her studies at UCLA, obtaining a certification in Construction Management, and at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where she achieved a Master of Design (MDes) in Sustainable Development. She also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree and is a licensed architect (AIA).
Professional Achievements
Daniele Horton has been recognized for her contributions to sustainability in the real estate sector. She was named one of the top 10 women in sustainability leadership by gb&d Magazine in 2014. Horton has spoken at nearly 200 industry events and publications since 2008, sharing her insights on sustainability practices. She is also a LEED Fellow and holds certifications as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a LEED Accredited Professional in Operations + Maintenance (LEED AP O+M).
Background and Community Involvement
Originally from Brazil, Daniele Horton has built a career focused on sustainability and environmental management. She has been actively involved in various national and local sustainability committees, including the ULI Greenprint Performance Committee and the USGBC Advisory Council. Horton is also a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps and participates in teaching LEED v4 training courses, contributing to the education of future professionals in the field.
