My job title may say "marketing guy" to most people., t I'm more than that. I'm a single father, an entrepreneur, a graphic designer, an author, and a fanatic of mid-century furniture. I’m passionate about these things because of the way it makes me feel when I'm participating in them. There's a deep emotional connection in each of them. At the end of the day, emotional connection matters most. We can no longer rely solely on SEO, content, and AdWords to succeed in today's competitive markets. We have to connect at a deeper level. Anytime we buy something, whether it's a beer, a house, season tickets, or even the organizations we participate in, our decision is driven heavily by how those things make us feel. We trust our instincts and look to reward ourselves with that emotional connection. Those purchases spoke to us on a primal level. It might be a cause we believe in, remind us of those we miss, moments of success or hardship, or times when work kept us away from family… but we still made that special effort, like buying a gift for your child before catching a flight. My philosophy is that real impact comes from connecting messages to emotions. Words matter. I focus on delivering meaningful messages that resonate with people and deliver at the right time and place to the proper audience. I’ve done this for Fortune 500 companies (Salesforce, Facebook, Box, Instagram), startups, and non-profits. I will do the same for you. What should we work on next?
