Services
Volta provides a range of services to early-stage tech founders and their teams in Atlantic Canada. These services include access to experienced advisors, a comprehensive performance framework, and a suite of tools and resources. Volta's mission is to help startups drastically improve their odds of building highly valuable companies. The residency program, which is not cohort-based, is tailored to the growth stage of each startup. This includes the Signal, Catalyst, and Growth stages, which focus on idea validation, MVP development, and scaling existing products, respectively.
Programs
Volta offers several specialized programs including the Signal, Catalyst, and Growth stages of their residency program. The Signal program helps founders validate their ideas with potential customers. The Catalyst program assists in designing and developing a minimum viable product (MVP). The Growth program supports teams that already have a product and traction, such as users or paying customers. Additionally, Volta has the Women Taking Over the World with Tech (WTWT) program which aims to support women in the tech industry. The BDC Thrive Impact Investment Program supports women-led startups focused on solutions aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Events
Volta hosts a variety of events to support the entrepreneurial ecosystem. DemoCamp allows founders to demonstrate their products without using PowerPoint presentations. The Ecosystem Impact Awards celebrate significant contributions to the startup community in Atlantic Canada. Volta's Pitch Competitions provide participants with experience pitching to investors and potential early adopters. Additionally, Lunch & Learns cover a range of topics crucial to building a successful startup. These events foster community engagement and provide avenues for learning and growth.
Community Impact
Volta has significantly impacted the startup ecosystem in Atlantic Canada. It has supported 210 startups that have collectively raised over $400 million in venture capital and created over 4,000 jobs in the community. Volta collaborates with community partners to provide comprehensive support to startups. Their Power Crew consists of trusted partners offering guidance and mentorship. The organization also runs the AI program in partnership with Scale AI, providing funding and resources to AI supply chain-focused companies.

Volta offers a co-working space in downtown Halifax with various membership options. This space is designed to foster collaboration among early-stage tech founders and their teams. Members have access to a suite of resources, tools, and advisory services.
