Additionally, she served as a Food Security Analyst in the Vulnerability Assessment and Mapping (VAM) Unit from 2015 to 2016 and as a Regional Emergency Food Security Expert and Project Manager from 2016 to 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Educational Background
Yingci Sun earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Applied Economics from Hong Kong Baptist University, completing her studies from 2008 to 2012. She also holds a Master's degree in Development Practice from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, where she studied from 2012 to 2015. Additionally, she participated in a Summer School program at The London School of Economics and Political Science in 2012.
Internship and Research Experience
Yingci Sun has gained valuable experience through various internships and research roles. She interned at UN REACH in Nutrition Policy Coordination from 2013 to 2014 in Kampala, Uganda. She also worked as a Short-term Research Consultant for UNICEF in 2014 and as a Monitoring & Evaluation Intern at The Hunger Project in the Greater New York City Area. Her research experience includes an independent project at Columbia University focusing on labor conflict in China's state-owned companies.
