Mohamed Hussein began his career as a senior tax and audit professional at KWS, a public accounting firm. Over the years, he has held roles in various financial and operational capacities. Mohamed worked as a senior financial analyst for Freedom House from 2010 to 2014. He then joined an international relief and development agency as a DFA, later being promoted to COO, and served there from 2015 to 2021. Subsequently, he served as a Controller at the Federal branch of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi in the USA.
