He received his Ph.D. in molecular pharmacology from Bordeaux University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the NIH, within the Molecular Therapeutics Section, Medical Oncology Branch. Gamelin also served as a Professor of Oncology and led a research lab in oncogenomics and genetics, funded by the French NCI.
