Kate Montgomery serves as the Director and Head of Business Development for Government Partnerships at Acumen. She has held this position since 2019, contributing to the organization's strategic initiatives in Kenya. In her role, she leads fundraising efforts for Acumen Capital Partners and manages blended funds, including the Kawi Safi II initiative, which focuses on a low carbon transition in Africa.
Previous Experience at Acumen
Prior to her current role, Montgomery worked at Acumen as an Associate Director for Strategic Partnerships from 2017 to 2019. She also served as a Strategic Partnerships Advisor for one year in 2016. Her tenure at Acumen has involved securing partnerships with various government entities and developing investment strategies focused on displaced populations in East Africa.

Significant Projects and Initiatives
Montgomery has played a crucial role in several significant projects, including the development of the Energy Access Relief Fund (EARF), which was established to support the energy access ecosystem during the Covid crisis. She has also been instrumental in creating Acumen's Climate Action Pakistan Fund, aimed at enhancing climate resilience for smallholder farmers in Pakistan.
