Mrutyunjaya Lenka has a rich history in the mining industry, having served in multiple roles at Vedanta Aluminium Limited. His positions included General Manager (Mines & Resource Development) and Head-Bauxite Procurement from 2010 to 2012, Deputy General Manager (Geology) from 2005 to 2010, and Associate General Manager (Geology) in 2005. Prior to Vedanta, he worked at Hindalco Industries Ltd. in various positions, including Project Geologist/Site Head, Mines & Refinery Site from 1997 to 2003, and Geologist & Sr. Mining Geologist from 1994 to 1997.
Educational Background
Mrutyunjaya Lenka holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Marketing from Fakir Mohan University, achieved between 2015 and 2017. He attained an M.Tech. in Engineering Geology from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad in 1993-1994, and another M.Tech. in Applied Geology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee from 1990 to 1993. He also has a B.Sc. in Geology (H), Physics, and Chemistry from DD College, Keonjhar, Orissa.

He is skilled in navigating various regulatory clearances and compliances such as Forest Clearance, Environmental Clearance, and obtaining Consent to Establish and Operate. His expertise extends to managing health, safety, and environmental compliances, approval and modification of mining plans and schemes, and proficiency in land acquisition and alienation for mining projects.
