Earlier in her career, she worked as a Photo Coordinator at Quad from 2007 to 2008 and at Trunk Archive as Keywording & Research from 2008 to 2012.

Caitlin Crews earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Photography from Kent State University, where she studied from 2003 to 2007. She furthered her education at Pratt Institute, obtaining a Master's Degree in Arts and Cultural Management from 2014 to 2016.
