He later pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Industrial Engineering, focusing on Statistics and Machine Learning, from 2009 to 2011 at the same institution. This educational background supports his expertise in data and artificial intelligence.

Before his roles at Aidoc, Michal Afek gained diverse experience in various positions. He worked as a Psychometric Course Instructor at Kidum from 2005 to 2008 in the Tel Aviv Area, Israel. He also served as a Teaching Assistant at Ben Gurion University from 2009 to 2011 in the Be’er Sheva Area. Additionally, he worked as an Intelligence Analyst in the Israel Defence Forces from 2002 to 2004, further developing his analytical skills.
