Ricky Chan currently serves as the Head of Airport & Connectivity Development for AirAsia in Hong Kong and Macau, a position he has held since 2017. In this role, he is responsible for negotiating with Macau (MFM) and Hong Kong (HKG) airports to support new routes and frequency extensions for the AirAsia Group. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Manager for Airport Development, Greater China, and Regional Network & Regulatory Affairs from 2014 to 2017. His work involves conducting market research and analysis to support AirAsia's route expansion plans in these regions.

Education and Expertise

Ricky Chan has a diverse educational background. He earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management from Asia International Open University, Macau, from 1998 to 2001. He furthered his studies in Logistics, Warehousing, and Supply Chain Management at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2001-2002. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from York University, obtained in 1990, and studied Business/Commerce at the University of Auckland from 1991 to 1994.

Background

Before joining AirAsia, Ricky Chan worked at Panalpina China Limited as Head of Operations and Head of Gateway from 2006 to 2007 in Macau. His extensive experience in operations and logistics has contributed to his current role in airport and connectivity development. Ricky has also completed his high school education at Parkdale Collegiate Institute in Toronto and Pui To Middle School, enhancing his foundational knowledge before pursuing higher education.

Achievements

In his current role at AirAsia, Ricky Chan leads a team that develops and enhances multi-modal connectivity transportation products, integrating land, sea, and air connections from the Pearl River Delta Region to Macau. He has initiated the setup of city check-in terminals in the Pearl River Delta region, expanding AirAsia's virtual hub coverage. Additionally, he collaborates with ground transportation service providers to enhance passenger connectivity to the Macau hub and coordinates with marketing teams to promote these connectivity products.
