Work at Aix-Marseille University
Joseph Ciccolini has been serving as a Full Professor of Pharmacokinetics at Aix-Marseille Université since 2019. His role involves teaching and conducting research in the field of pharmacokinetics, contributing to the academic development of students and the advancement of knowledge in this area. Prior to this position, he founded and co-headed the DIGIPHARM Master Degree program for a brief period in 2021, and he was the founder and head of the Master Degree in Pharmacokinetics from 2008 to 2018.

Ciccolini holds multiple positions in various organizations. He has been a Group Leader at Inserm's SMARTc platform and the COMPO INRIA-Inserm joint team since 2018 and 2021, respectively. He also serves as Secretary to the Board at EORTC since 2021 and has been a Board Member since 2015. Additionally, he is a Visiting Faculty Member at the International School of Metronomic Chemotherapy (ISMe) in Italy since 2019 and an Editorial Board Member for Cancer Chemotherapy & Pharmacology at Springer Nature Group since 2017.
Education and Expertise
Joseph Ciccolini obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from Aix-Marseille Université, completing his studies from 1987 to 1994. He furthered his education by achieving a Master of Science in Pharmacokinetics in 1994 and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacokinetics from 1997 to 2000. He also received the Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches (HDR) in 2006, which qualifies him to supervise research. His expertise lies primarily in pharmacokinetics, clinical pharmacology, and cancer research.
Previous Experience
Ciccolini has a diverse background in pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology. He worked as a Clinical Pharmacologist at APHM from 2015 and previously held the position of Contract Clinical Pharmacologist from 2002 to 2015. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacokinetics at Faculté de Pharmacie de Marseille for 17 years. His early career included roles at Merck Group as a Research Scientist and at Servier as a Pre-doctoral Research Fellow in Animal Pharmacokinetics.
