Angela Wilson has been involved with the American Chemical Society (ACS) since 1989 as a member and volunteer. She currently holds the position of Candidate for President-Elect, a role she has occupied since 2020. Additionally, she serves as a Councilor, a position she has held for 20 years since 2004. Wilson is also recognized as an ACS Fellow, a title she has maintained since 2010.

She served as an Assistant Professor from 2000 to 2005, an Associate Professor from 2005 to 2009, and later as a Professor until 2016. Wilson also directed the Center for Advanced Scientific Computing and Modeling (CASCaM) from 2005 to 2016 and acted as the Administrative Fellow in the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs from 2013 to 2015. She was appointed as Regents Professor and Associate Vice Provost for Faculty during her tenure at UNT.
