About George S. Motto, M.D.
"We're killing ourselves with the fork!" I remember my father, Salvatore Motto, a pharmacist, saying when I was in grammar school and growing up on Chicago's west side. Unfortunately, events since then (including my 45 years since medical school graduation as a practicing physician and endocrinologist) have shown me that my father was, indeed, ahead of his time. An epidemic of lifestyle related overweight, obesity, and physical unfitness has resulted in dramatic increases in diabetes, high blood fats, hypertension, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, heart disease, stroke, and diminished quality of life. As with any epidemic, I believe we have to look past the traditional medical model in combating it. By leaving my incredibly satisfying and rewarding private practice of endocrinology and metabolism, I now have time to partner with others of different interests and disciplines who share my life long dream of treating and preventing disease using multiple, workable, lifestyle interventions for health. I'm reaching out to those individuals.Specialties: Motivational Speaking Utilizing Interaction with Audience MembersSeminars on Healthy Lifestyle Seminars on Disease Treatment & Prevention thru LifestyleWorkshops & Roundtable Discussions on Healthy LifestyleEducating Individuals & Groups on Nutrition
