I find great joy in supporting CEOs, senior executives and their companies achieve full potential. I help leaders make better decisions, focus on what’s most important, and accelerate business performance. I’ve been the CEO of 11 companies: seven private, one public, and three non-profits. I’ve focused on growing start-ups and middle market businesses in a variety of industries. I’ve saved companies on the brink of bankruptcy and in one case, turned a negative valuation into a sale of $120 million. I've been told my leadership style is positive, strategic, Socratic, and results oriented. I often reinforce key ideas through personal experiences and memorable stories, and am committed to helping senior executives achieve full potential, for themselves and their businesses, through caring, experience-based advisory. I've served as Chairman and/or Director on twelve Boards of Directors, including leadership in Executive, Governance, Finance, Long Range Planning, Compensation, and Merger & Acquisition committees. I have additionally driven and participated in fifteen M&A transactions (6 Buy/9 Sell). When it comes to community and other interests, I like to be active and supportive. I’ve worked with orphans in Africa helping create sustainable support systems, led an international medical non-profit, fundraised professionally for a global White House peace initiative and currently work in animal rescue. Through the Arizona Commerce Authority I am an active Entrepreneur in Residence, Mentor and Judge working with technology, life sciences and consumer product start-ups and early stage companies. And finally, I'm an enthusiastic golfer and competitive sailor, having competed and won races around the world and served as Commodore of St. Francis Yacht Club.
