From 2011 to 2012, he worked as an International Advisor focusing on disaster management and urban resilience for Mozambique, Malawi, Madagascar, and Comoros. Earlier, from 2007 to 2011, he was the Associate Human Settlements Officer for the Cities in Crisis & Safer Cities Programme in Kenya and various countries.
UNESCO Contributions
Pasquale Capizzi's career includes substantial contributions to UNESCO. From 2005 to 2007, he worked as a Programme Specialist in Social Development and Youth in Central America. Between 2003 and 2005, he served as a Consultant on urban and local development initiatives. His journey with UNESCO began as an Assistant to the Director on Human Rights and Local Development, based in the Mexico City Area, where he continued from 2002 to 2003.
Academic Background
Pasquale Capizzi has an extensive academic background. He earned an Executive Masters in Sustainability Studies from the Università di Bologna and the University of Cambridge, both completed in 2021. He holds a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from Heriot-Watt University. He also studied at Fordham University, where he received a Diploma in Humanitarian Studies. Additionally, Pasquale achieved a Master of Arts and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences from Sciences Po, focusing on International Development.
