Founding Boutique Property Management Firm
In 1979, John Carona founded a boutique property management firm. By 1983, he had integrated IBM System 36 technology, showing a forward-thinking approach to adopting computer technology. In 1988, he further expanded his company’s capabilities by establishing an in-house service department.
Expansion and Acquisitions
John Carona spearheaded multiple expansions and acquisitions, significantly growing his business. He opened the first branch office in Fort Worth in 1996. Carona also acquired Associa Hill Country in 1998 and Associa Arizona in 2001. By 2009, He expanded internationally by opening Associa Mexico. His vision led to acquisitions of organizations such as Associa Hawaii in 2006 and Community Management Corporation in 2002.
Innovations in the Industry
John Carona has consistently pushed for innovation within the property management industry. Notable initiatives include founding Associa University in 2006, launching the industry's first nationwide Political Action Committee in 2008, and establishing Associa Green in 2012.
