Lindsey Vawter holds a Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Charlotte School of Law, where she studied from 2010 to 2013. During her time there, she was actively involved in academic and extracurricular activities, including roles as a Teaching Assistant for Constitutional Law, Editor-In-Chief of the Charlotte School of Law Access to Justice Journal, and as a Research Assistant. Prior to this, she earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Government from Wright State University, studying from 2004 to 2008.
Early Career and Internships
Lindsey Vawter's career began with various internships and roles that laid the foundation for her legal expertise. In 2014, she worked as a Legislative Bill Clerk at the Tennessee General Assembly. Before that, she was a Legal Intern at the U.S. Department of Justice in 2013. She also gained experience as a Law Clerk at the Law Office of Smokey Brown and as a Visting Legal Intern at the Mississippi Center for Justice in 2011. These early positions were instrumental in developing her skills in legal research, policy analysis, and legislative processes.
