About Rob Styles
I am an experienced senior developer and software architect with extensive and varied experience. I build software that delights users, scales to meet high profile demand and runs at an affordable cost. I have over two decades experience in software engineering, high-traffic internet, big data, and machine learning. I built my first site in 1997. I was one of the technologists behind five million customer, internet bank Egg. I have been working with agile practices, the engineering practices in XP in particular, since 2000, and more recently have been helping early stage startups. I have architected solutions based on SaaS, Cloud, Web, and Big Data technologies for high profile clients including the BBC, Open University, JP Morgan, Red Bull, The British Library, departments of the UK and US Governments and international NGOs. I have worked with several early stage startups to build their initial development teams and establish solid technical foundations. I am currently interested in remote development roles in ethical businesses with a positive mission.
