Luis Prato has extensive experience in the insurance industry, having previously worked in various senior underwriting roles. He was Head of Energy for the UK & Ireland at AXA XL from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, he served as Vice President for Energy & Heavy Industries at Allied World Assurance Company from 2002 to 2007. His career also includes positions at Catlin as Senior Underwriter for Downstream Energy & Power Utilities, and at AEGIS London as Senior Underwriter and Deputy Head for Onshore Property.
Education and Expertise
Luis Prato has a strong academic background in engineering and business management. He earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Metropolitana - UNIMET, completing his studies from 1993 to 1998. He later pursued Safety Management Studies, achieving a Master of Science (MSc) from Bournemouth University between 1998 and 2001. Additionally, he obtained an Executive MBA from the Cambridge Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, studying from 2019 to 2021.
