Before her current roles at Berry Global, Claudia worked as a Continuous Improvement Manager Black Belt from 2015 to 2017 in Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. She also held the position of Continuous Improvement Engineer Black Belt at Mondelēz International from 2011 to 2015. In her earlier career, she worked at Cadbury Adams as a Continuous Improvement Engineer from 2006 to 2011. Throughout these roles, she focused on enhancing manufacturing processes and implementing efficiency improvements.
Education and Certifications
Claudia studied at Alliance Manchester Business School, where she was a candidate for the Global Executive MBA from 2021 to 2022. She also holds a Diplomado in Gerencia de Producción from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, completed in 2008. Claudia achieved Lean Six Sigma certifications, including a Green Belt from Cnp - Centro Nacional de Productividad and a Black Belt from Gps - Global Productivity Solutions, both in 2011. Additionally, she completed an Intensive English program at Kaplan International Colleges in Washington, DC, in 2014.
Achievements in Process Improvement
Claudia has successfully led various initiatives that resulted in significant operational improvements. Notably, she increased manufacturing capacity by 20% and coating capacity by 45% for Sparkies through process automation and redesign. She also led the CASA project to improve the speed of the Halls packing machine across multiple countries in South America. Her efforts in continuous improvement have generated regional savings of approximately 4.5 million dollars annually across Berry Global plants in Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico.
Mentorship and Leadership
Claudia has mentored a total of 21 individuals in continuous improvement methodologies, including 9 Black Belts and 12 Green Belts. Her mentorship has contributed to the professional development of these individuals, enhancing their skills in process improvement and operational excellence.
