Tyler served as President of the Pitt Biomedical Engineering Society from 2018 to 2020, where he led initiatives to engage students in biomedical engineering projects. He initiated a program to extend undergraduate design projects beyond their initial coursework, promoting hands-on experience and collaboration. His international experience includes working with the Enable Community Foundation in Haiti, where he supervised a 3D print center.
