Eric Lufkin is a Propulsion Engineer at BLUE ORIGIN in Kent, Washington. Since 2018, he has developed component test plans and procedures to qualify hardware for flight on the BE-3PM engine. He has conducted cryogenic testing of propellant valves and analyzed engine test data to diagnose discrepancies in propulsion components. Additionally, he has supported the production and maintenance of five BE-3PM engines for the New Shepard Rocket and contributed to the development of Blue Origin’s first human flight engine.

In 2017, he interned as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Polar Focus Audio Rigging in South Deerfield, Massachusetts. Earlier, in 2015, he worked as a Laboratory Machinist and Assistant in the Orthopedic Bioengineering Research Laboratory at Colorado State University.
