John Jorgensen currently holds the position of Senior Manager in Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance (SQMA) at BLUE ORIGIN. Furthermore, he has a long tenure at Universal Avionics Systems Corporation, where he served in various roles including Software Certification Specialist, Technical Director, Software Manager, Project Manager, Software Lead, and Software Engineer from 1997 to 2014.
Educational Background
John Jorgensen completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Brigham Young University, studying there from 1989 to 1997. He also underwent DER Standardized and Recurrent DER Training at the FAA in 1970.
Collaboration with NASA and Industry
John serves as the primary coordinator and liaison for software standard adjudication with NASA on the Lunar HLS National Team, which includes companies like Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, Draper, and Blue Origin. He also authored and is the task lead for the commercial space ASTM F47.01 software safety standard WK76298, collaborating with NASA and FAA working groups.
